Data handling and privacy

What we collect from your site

Through your integration, request metadata only: time, hostname, path, method, status, response size, the visitor’s IP address and user agent, the referrer and the query string. Never cookies, form data, page content or logged-in user data.

What we store

AI crawler, search bot and AI referral requests	As individual events: time, host, path (no query string), page type, bot or referral source, verification state, status, method, country
Human visits and other bots	Counted per day only. Never stored individually
Visitor IP addresses	Only as a salted hash, with a salt that rotates daily, so hashes can’t be linked across days
User agents	Only as a hash, plus the recognised bot name
Query strings and referrers	Used to classify the request, then discarded
Requests to private paths	Never stored. Checkout, cart and admin paths are private by default

Daily totals, answers and scores	For the life of the site
Data after cancellation	13 months

AI answers

Answers are collected from public AI engines by asking your prompts. We never send your private data, customer data or site content to an AI engine as part of a scan.
