# Claude Code plugin

> Install, update and remove the RankRaft AI plugin for Claude Code.

The RankRaft AI plugin is the easiest way to give [Claude Code](https://code.claude.com) the [RankRaft skill](/skills/rankraft-skill). It installs the skill in one step and can keep it up to date.

* **Plugin name:** `rankraft` (installed as `rankraft@rankraft`)
* **What it adds:** one skill, `rankraft`. No hooks, no MCP servers, nothing that runs on its own.

## Install

**In a Claude Code session**

/plugin marketplace add RankRaft/rankraft-claude-plugin
/plugin install rankraft@rankraft
```

The install command opens the plugin's details. Choose a scope:

* **Install for you** (user scope) — every project on this machine.
* **Install for all collaborators on this repository** (project scope) — written to `.claude/settings.json`, which you commit.
* **Install for you, in this repo only** (local scope).

**From your shell**

claude plugin marketplace add RankRaft/rankraft-claude-plugin
claude plugin install rankraft@rankraft
```

Installs at user scope. Add `--scope project` or `--scope local` to change it:

claude plugin install rankraft@rankraft --scope project
```

The plugin loads the next time you start Claude Code, or run `/reload-plugins` in an open session.

**One command**

Add the marketplace and install in one step:

Needs a recent Claude Code; use the two-step commands on older versions.

**Desktop app & VS Code**

* **Desktop app (Code tab):** click **+** next to the prompt → **Plugins** → **Add plugin**. Add the marketplace `RankRaft/rankraft-claude-plugin` if it isn't listed, then install **rankraft**.
* **VS Code:** type `/plugins` in the Claude Code panel. On the **Marketplaces** tab add `RankRaft/rankraft-claude-plugin`, then install **rankraft** from the **Plugins** tab.

The terminal, the desktop app and VS Code share settings on one computer, so installing in one makes it available in the others.

## Check it's working

* Type `/` in Claude Code and look for **`/rankraft:rankraft`**.
* Or run `claude plugin list` in your shell; `rankraft@rankraft` should show as enabled.

You rarely need to call the skill yourself. Claude Code loads it automatically when you ask for something RankRaft-related, such as *"export our visibility by engine to a CSV with rankraft-js"*.

## Keep it up to date

Auto-update is **off by default** for marketplaces outside Anthropic's own, including this one. Either turn it on once, or update when you want to.

**1. Turn on auto-update (recommended)**

Run `/plugin`, open the **Marketplaces** tab, select **rankraft** and choose **Enable auto-update**. New versions of the skill then install when Claude Code starts.

**2. Or update by hand**

```

Then run `/reload-plugins` in any open session.

## Turn off or remove

| Turn it back on | `claude plugin enable rankraft@rankraft` | `/plugin enable` |
| Uninstall | `claude plugin uninstall rankraft@rankraft` | `/plugin uninstall` |
| Remove the marketplace (also uninstalls the plugin) | `claude plugin marketplace remove rankraft` | `/plugin marketplace remove rankraft` |

Installed at project scope? Add `--scope project` to `disable`, `enable` and `uninstall`.

## For your team

Install at **project scope** and commit `.claude/settings.json`. Teammates are prompted to enable the plugin; each runs this once to download it:

The plugin contains exactly the files in the [skill repository](https://github.com/RankRaft/rankraft-skill), synced automatically. Use the plugin for Claude Code so updates are one command.
