# AI referral sources

> The AI engines RankRaft AI detects when a visitor clicks through from an answer.

A browser visit counts as an AI referral when its Referer is one of these hosts (or a subdomain of one), or, when there is no matching Referer, when the landing URL's `utm_source` matches.

  Google AI Overviews and AI Mode send visitors from `google.com`, the same as ordinary search results, so their clicks can't be separated from organic Google traffic in referral data. Use [AI Visibility](/analytics/visibility/ai-visibility) to measure your presence in them.
